EXCEPTIONAL FRENCH ROCOCO  PAINTING

"The Child With The Dove"

Pupil of Jean BaPtiste Greuze

THIS is a TRUE MASTERPIECE! It encompasses some of the most desired and beautiful elements in art, the beautiful, innocent wonderment of a gorgeous child, a full fledged span of a dove, the symbolic bird of PEACE. This is a most STUNNING, captivating work, and truly is a coveted RARITY on the art market!

There is a profound use of color and tremendous beauty in the flesh tones. The captivation of the child's marvel and naivety is so perfectly executed using masterful proportions and excellence in technique.

The very natural gracious pose of the hands gently clasping the dove across his chest is peace inspiring, as the child obviously has no fear of his bird flying away. The feathers of the bird are exquisitely painted in true form, as one can almost see their flutter.

This painting shows signs of a TRUE MASTER, exacting portrayal of light and shadow, color peeking through at all the most crucial points. Many paintings that depict humans and animals show a flaw in the painter's abilities, we typically see a lack of skill in painting either the human form, or the animal form. But this MASTER has the full reportois of skills, as the dove and the child are done flawlessly!

The glint of the doves red eye offsets the bright blue curious eyes of the child so beautifully!
